Crash Course US Government and Politics

Given that we will all be on the edge of our seats next Tuesday watching and waiting as the results come in (even non politics geeks like me are interested in this election) now seems as good a time as any to explain how the US system works. There are elements that are very similar to the British one, and others that are very dissimilar. Indeed many over there are wishing that theirs was a bit more similar to ours right now. Not so much the monarchy of course, but parliament. That looks like a pretty good idea right now.

So sit back as we go on a tour of the US system for Government including all of that constitutional stuff we Brits never bothered to write down.
